Activision’s landlord sues over lease extension dispute
“As our lease was about to end, Regus tried to hike the rent (by 59%!) and we said no. So Regus apparently sent an email with some kind of “one-click to accept a new lease” kind of button, like a phishing email would. They claim that we clicked the button … but with no proof whatsoever,” Activision’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs Lulu Meservey said in a note to staff.




The landlord of one Activision building in Santa Monica has sued the video game publisher after it failed to agree on a lease extension.
Regus Management Group says that Activision Publishing violated the terms of a six-month lease extension, and is on the hook for $2.3 million in contractual damages and $2 million in economic damages.
Activision disputes that.
