LA city sued over ordinance banning oil drilling

Plaintiff Bridgeland Resources LLC states in the lawsuit that the city was capricious and acted unconstitutionally in adopting the ordinance, and that it violates state and federal law as well as the city’s general plan.

A company with oil and gas interests in Los Angeles sued the city over its adoption of the Oil and Gas Drilling Ordinance, which bans new oil extraction and makes existing extraction a nonconforming use of land.
