Airline group fights San Francisco healthcare ordinance

San Francisco has not tried to impose civil or criminal penalties on the airlines, but Shay Dvoretzky, an attorney for Airlines for America, said those possible punishments are allowed by the statute.

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel considered arguments Friday about whether the city of San Francisco can impose a requirement on airlines at San Francisco International Airport to provide full health benefits or whether that’s prohibited because the city is acting as a regulator.
