Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office announced statewide guidance to help prevent discriminatory housing practices caused by so-called crime-free housing policies, as he spoke on diversity and inclusion at a Los Angeles County Bar Association event.

The California Department of Justice has had trouble connecting with communities throughout the state due to a perception of it as a faceless bureaucracy, Attorney General Rob Bonta told a bar conference on Friday. Still, he praised the work of his Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council in helping to bridge that gap.
