Parties pause fight over vaccine information law to await circuit ruling
The law, which Gov. Gavin Newsom signed last year, declares doctors who spread “misinformation” about COVID-19 are engaging in “professional misconduct” and can be sanctioned by the Medical Board of California. Multiple sets of plaintiffs have challenged AB 2098 on free speech grounds.




The warring sides in a case over a state vaccine information law finally agree on something: Let the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decide.
In a joint status report filed Monday, Attorney General Rob Bonta and plaintiffs challenging AB 2098 agreed to a briefing schedule that will effectively put the case on hold until late this year.
