Bill to regulate litigation funders passes Senate Judiciary Committee
SB 581 passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on a 10-0 bipartisan vote Tuesday. The measure, dubbed the Third Party Litigation Financing Consumer Protection Act, didn’t come up until almost 9 p.m., nearly 12 hours after the committee convened.




A bill to regulate the litigation financing industry is moving forward after a prominent attorneys’ group convinced the author to remove portions it called “tort reform.”
