Panel rules for Berkeley, regents in campus expansion case
On appeal, the regents argued that suspending student enrollment exceeded the trial court’s jurisdiction and ran afoul of state legislation. They also argued that their supplemental report complied with CEQA. The governing board for the university system added that because it came up with a new, updated, long-range development plan and accompanying environmental report in 2021, the plaintiff’s claims are moot.




The 1st District Court of Appeal ruled in favor of UC Berkeley and the Regents of the University of California in their fight against a group trying to stop new development on the Berkeley campus.
