2 former plaintiffs' attorneys to repay fees in LA water billing scandal
In January, attorneys at Kabateck LLP moved to disgorge two Ohio attorneys’ fees and costs on the grounds that they either knew about collusion with the city’s attorneys and didn’t notify their client or neglected their due diligence in being ignorant of the conflict of interest. However, both have made arrangements to repay, the court was told.




Two attorneys awarded more than $3 million in fees and costs in an overbilling lawsuit against the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power are negotiating the return of the money after being accused of hiding a collusive scheme from their client, a judge was told Monday.
