Some 140 lawyers leave Lewis Brisbois to start a new law firm

Barber Ranen, led by labor and employment attorneys John Barber and Jeffrey Ranen, will be a full service law firm, Barber said.

As many as 140 lawyers left Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith to form a new law firm. The new firm, Barber Ranen, is being led by John Barber, who was national chair of the Labor & Employment practice, and Jeffrey Ranen, who was vice chair.

Barber said in an interview Tuesday that he and Jeff "wanted to try something new, something fresh that was more reflective of our personalities."
