Looming FDA changes spurred flavored vaping launch, ex-executive says

Juul faced pressure to release its e-cigarettes and flavored pods because of the looming threat of changes in Food and Drug Administration rules that executives feared might stall or stop their launch, the plaintiffs’ witness, former chief operating officer Scott Dunlap, testified.

Jurors for the first bellwether trial over Juul Lab Inc.’s electronic cigarettes marketing campaign heard from a former executive Tuesday who said he was fired for raising concerns about underage usage of the products.
