High schooler sues to educate peers on benefits of non-dairy milk
“If the school believes that it should advocate for or feels compelled to talk about the benefits of Dairy Milk the school is free to do just that, but the school is not entitled to hijack her message, force her to deliver the school’s, the USDA’s, or the government’s message in any way,” David Loy, Legal Director of the First Amendment Coalition, said.




A federal lawsuit filed Tuesday accuses the Los Angeles Unified School District and the U.S. Department of Agriculture of violating the First Amendment rights of a high school senior who wanted to educate her fellow students about the potential health concerns associated with dairy milk.
