LA judge’s disqualification motion against colleague denied

Judge Patrick E. Connolly was the lead prosecutor of a man who was up for resentencing. In March, Connolly accused Judge Daniel J. Lowenthal of making comments showing he was biased in favor of the convict, and filed a motion to have him removed from the case.

A Los Angeles County judge’s motion to disqualify a bench colleague from presiding over the resentencing of a man convicted of the 2007 murder of a sheriff’s deputy was denied.
