State high court to hear ‘virus take home’ case

The case has drawn a host of amicus briefs from attorneys for consumer and business groups. Robert E. Dunn, an attorney representing the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other industry groups, said the outcome will have significant repercussions.

The state Supreme Court will consider Tuesday whether California law precludes lawsuits by nonemployees who may have gotten the COVID-19 virus from family members who contracted it at work.
