Google seeks dismissal of YouTube algorithm bias claims

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati partner Brian M. Willen argued in his motion to dismiss with prejudice the fifth amended complaint that the attorneys for seven Black and two Latino content creators failed to adequately allege “that YouTube’s algorithm treats the plaintiffs differently based on their personal characteristics.”

Attorneys representing YouTube LLC and its parent company Google LLC asked a San Francisco federal judge to throw out a lawsuit claiming racial profiling in the algorithms used to suggest videos and other website services to viewers.
