Former Apple employee accused of trade secret theft flees to China

Charges in his case and four other cases were unsealed Tuesday as the Department of Justice unveiled a new multiagency unit, The Disruptive Technology Strike Force, created to protect critical American technology or data from theft by hostile nations.

A former Apple Inc. employee who was secretly indicted in April on charges he stole technology related to autonomous systems has fled the country, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.
