Attorney withdraws from stabbing defense

“How could I ethically represent somebody, ever, that I had a conflict of interest with in the beginning? Do you understand?” sole practitioner Paula K. Canny said.

The attorney for a man accused of fatally stabbing Cash App founder Bob Lee in San Francisco has withdrawn from the case. Sole practitioner Paula K. Canny of Burlingame announced her withdrawal on Tuesday, citing an unspecified conflict of interest.

“It’s both with great disappointment and relief that I’m here,” Canny told reporters outside the courtroom on Tuesday. “It’s a super messed up situation.”
