San Diego deputy district attorneys and others sued for wrongful 20-year imprisonment
After she filed a habeas corpus petition, a nearly yearlong preliminary hearing and extensive pretrial litigation followed. On May 16, 2022, the San Diego DA’s office dismissed charges, conceding prosecutors had “insufficient evidence to sustain a conviction beyond a reasonable doubt,” the lawsuit states.




A woman who was exonerated after 19 years and seven months in prison for the murder of her husband is suing former and current San Diego deputy district attorneys and the sheriff’s department, alleging they hid exculpatory evidence and produced false evidence.
