Federal government sues Edison over Creek fire
The Creek fire broke out in the northern Los Angeles area in December 2017 and burned over 15,000 acres of land. The government’s complaint said the wildfire started when power lines and other electrical equipment owned, maintained, and operated by Southern California Edison ignited dry vegetation.




The federal government accused Southern California Edison of failing to properly inspect and maintain its equipment leading up to a 2017 wildfire within the Angeles National Forest. The government is asking for more than $40 million in damages.
