Judge adds Dole as debtor for subsidiary in oil cleanup

Dole Food applied for a stay of enforcement as it litigates a separate application by affiliate Dole plc to set aside or correct the judgment. It is also in a dispute with its subsidiary's insurers.

After granting Dole Food Co. additional time to present evidence, a Los Angeles judge ruled that it should be added as a debtor to a $133 million judgment that held its subsidiary responsible for cleanup of oil contamination in the city of Carson.
