FTC moves to block Activision’s $69B marriage to Microsoft
The new lawsuit, seeking a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction against the California-based technology and video game companies, joins an already in-progress commission investigation into the legality of the merger.




The Federal Trade Commission moved on Monday to block a $69 billion merger between Microsoft Corp. and Activision Blizzard Inc. pending a decision on whether the deal would violate federal antitrust laws.
Both companies’ leaders issued statements expressing confidence that the facts are on their side and they were ready for a federal court fight.
