Girardi is competent to stand trial, government expert says
Dr. Diana Goldstein’s report was provided to Girardi’s defense attorneys so it could be redacted for any privileged information before prosecutors see it, according to Friday’s government court filing.
Disbarred plaintiffs’ attorney Thomas V. Girardi, who faces criminal fraud and wire fraud charges in Los Angeles and Chicago, is competent to stand trial, according to a government neuropsychologist who examined him.
The conclusion was revealed in a filing by federal prosecutors in Los Angeles who, through an office spokesman, declined to comment Monday.
