EEOC complicated Activision investigation, state tells circuit
A legal clash ensued between the California Civil Rights Department and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and attorneys for the state filed an unsuccessful motion to intervene in the federal lawsuit, claiming the settlement would allow Activision Blizzard to escape liability under the stronger California law claims.
