Woman sues to know why ex-husband was allowed to buy gun

Joseph M. Alioto Jr. of Alioto Legal, representing plaintiff Christy Camara Gomes, asked a San Francisco judge Tuesday to impose $54,900 in discovery sanctions on the California Department of Justice for denying the records request.

A woman whose 10-year old son was killed by his father in a murder-suicide is suing the state Department of Justice for information on why her ex-husband was allowed to buy a gun when he was under a restraining order for threats to the boy’s life.
