An environmental advocacy group informed the California Department of Transportation of its intent to sue the state agency, along with its Oregon counterpart, for allegedly failing to take into consideration the effects of tire pollution on salmon when approving projects.

A representative from the California Department of Transportation’s media department took a phone message Thursday, but no further comment followed.
