‘Toss claims, punitives,’ Uber asks in passenger abuse case
After nearly two years of logistical maneuvering in this Judicial Council coordinated proceeding, a master complaint was filed by the plaintiffs on March 7, alleging a companywide failure to investigate sexual assault claims,




Uber Technologies Inc. asked a judge Thursday to toss four sets of claims and the request for punitive damages in the master complaint in a coordinated proceeding from 362 passengers. They are attempting to hold the ride-share company liable for the sexual assaults they allegedly suffered at the hands of drivers.
