Waymaker wins 8-0 verdict in penile implant dispute

“As we were heading to trial, we realized that under the California Uniform Trade Secrets Act, a reasonable royalty damages model is something that the judge handles, not the jury,” said plaintiff’s attorney Ryan Baker. “We negotiated with the other side.”

Attorneys from Waymaker LLP secured a jury verdict for a Beverly Hills urologist in a trade secrets theft trial alleging another doctor tried to appropriate his client’s design for a penile implant.

Ryan Baker and Scott Malzahn of Waymaker LLP in Los Angeles said by phone Monday that their client, Dr. James Elist, secured an 8-0 verdict on all 10 claims last Friday.
