FTC opens court fight to pause Microsoft-Activision merger

Microsoft’s attorney, Beth A. Wilkinson of Wilkinson Stekloff LLP, said of the deal in her opening remarks, “By definition it’s good for the consumer.”

The Federal Trade Commission and Microsoft Corp. began their fight Thursday over whether the company’s $69 billion deal to acquire Activision Blizzard Inc. should be enjoined until the agency can complete its administrative review of the deal.
