State courts to get 2-plus years for remote proceedings
The amendments added on Saturday to AB 133 and SB 133 would allow courts to hold remote proceedings in civil and juvenile proceedings until Jan. 1, 2026. The current rules, passed in 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, are scheduled to expire on Saturday.




California courts will get more than two years to conduct remote proceedings under changes added to budget trailer bills over the weekend.
But lactating mothers will have to wait two more years before they have a private place to nurse their babies in many courthouses in the state.
