Sony CEO testifies for FTC to halt Microsoft-Activision merger

Microsoft and its counsel have pointed to Sony as the biggest player in the video game console market to make their main argument for why the merger should be allowed to go through.

President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan appeared via video deposition Tuesday as part of an evidentiary hearing to decide whether Microsoft Corp.’s $69 billion deal to acquire Activision Blizzard Inc. should be prohibited from consummating until the Federal Trade Commission finishes its review.
