Witnesses testify against LA attorney who tweeted protesters and looters should be shot
“This type of speech by an attorney misrepresenting an affiliation with the Los Angeles Police Department encouraging violence has never been considered protected speech,” said State Bar prosecutor Akili P. Nickson.

Three witnesses testified Tuesday against Los Angeles attorney Marla A. Brown in a State Bar Court disciplinary hearing over tweets she sent calling for the shooting of protesters, looters and rioters after the death of George Floyd in 2020.
According to screen shots of the tweets shown in court, Brown, using a Twitter handle, tweeted: “Shoot the protesters,” “they need to be shot,” and, “Can’t wait. At least a reason to shoot them.”
