Budget deal gives Newsom some of his CEQA changes

SB 149 would extend rules requiring that court challenges of the environmental impact report for certain projects “shall be resolved, to the extent feasible, within 270 days.”

Gov. Gavin Newsom will get his CEQA changes after all — or some of them, at least.

In May, the governor angered environmental groups and Democratic lawmakers by pushing major changes to litigation under the California Environmental Quality Act litigation through the budget process.
