OpenAI accused of illegal information gathering
“Using stolen and misappropriated personal information at scale, defendants have created powerful and wildly profitable AI and released it into the world without regard for the risks,” Ryan J. Clarkson of Clarkson Law Firm PC in Malibu wrote in the complaint.
Artificial intelligence laboratory OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, and Microsoft Corp. were accused in a federal proposed class action of illegally harvesting large amounts of private and identifiable information from people on the internet to create their products.
