Elderly lawyer says attorney who embezzled should be permanently disbarred

A retired attorney says the lawyer he mentored stole more than $500,000 from him and his wife. She paid restitution and is serving one year in jail but he wants to be sure she never practices again.

Retired attorney Stephen L. Kanne, 89, discovered that attorney Bonnie T. Roadarmel, whom he had mentored and considered to be like family, had embezzled more than $500,000 from him and his wife after she volunteered to handle their finances without pay.
