Hindu group claims state seeks to mask caste link
“Reading his description of the enforcement action the California Civil Rights Department filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court, you would be hard-pressed to believe the case had any connection to religion.” wrote Timothy C. The Hindu American Foundation filed an opposition to the state’s motion to dismiss its complaint on Thursday. The group wants to block the state’s effort to sue managers in Silicon Valley over alleged caste discrimination.
The opposition brief filed Thursday claims the state is intentionally trying to mask the connection it alleges of the word “caste” with the Hindu religion in order to shield itself from claims the state’s lawsuit itself ...
