Formal dress policy for attorneys reinstated in LA County courts

“Attorneys appearing in court in person or by remote video should be dressed in accordance with current customs for appropriate business attire,” Los Angeles Superior Court Local Rule 3.43 states.

A formal dress code policy for attorneys appearing in Los Angeles Superior Court in person and remotely was reinstated Monday.

A news release from the LA Superior Court on Monday stated that the policy, which was first put into place on July 1, 2011, “once again” requires attorneys who appear in person and on remote video to wear appropriate, professional business attire.
