Google sued again over data scraping for AI products

The lawsuit is just the latest to be filed against AI companies. Some claim copyright infringement and others claim privacy violations.

Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc., was accused in a class complaint of inappropriate data scraping and misusing vast amounts of personal information and copyrighted material from millions of internet users to train its artificial intelligence systems.

Google responded Monday that it has been clear for years that it uses material posted on “the open web” to train its AI models and operates within the law.
