State to provide free legal services to farmworkers

“Farmworkers are the backbone of our economy, and we won’t stand by as bad actors use the threat of deportation as a form of exploitation,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said.

Farmworkers involved in state labor investigations will be provided free legal assistance — which includes case review services, legal advice, and representation by an attorney — under a $4.5 million pilot program launched by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
