Parent appeals dismissal of suit over school’s gender secrecy policy
The plaintiff, represented by attorneys from the Center for American Liberty, said she has a constitutional right to make this decision for her child, arguing that “social transitioning is a powerful psychological intervention affecting a matter of importance to a child’s life.”




A parent who sued Chico Unified School District for concealing a change in her child’s gender identity designation is appealing after her lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge.
Harmeet K. Dhillon of Dhillon Law Group, one of the plaintiff,’s attorneys, filed the notice of appeal Thursday in federal court in Sacramento after her complaint was dismissed by U.S. District Judge John Mendez on July 11.
