Judge says he likely won’t separate 5 bias claims against UC regents

“There are numerous common issues of fact that justify holding one trial,” Superior Court Judge Stephen Goorvitch wrote in a tentative ruling ahead of Thursday’s hearing on the motion.

A Los Angeles County judge tentatively denied a motion to separate five employment discrimination claims pending against the Regents of the University of California, finding that it would be too difficult and inefficient to manage the claims as separate trials.
