Tesla says ex-technician’s claim for tuition must be arbitrated

The technician, represented by Larry W. Lee and Simon L. Yang at Diversity Law Group PC, said she was required to take college courses when she was hired and was not reimbursed. Tesla denied any Labor Code violations.

Tesla Inc. wants to arbitrate a proposed class action by former technicians who claim the electric carmaker forced them to take certain college courses but never reimbursed them

The parties appeared Tuesday at the first case management conference in Santa Clara County Superior Court, where Tesla’s attorneys informed Judge Theodore C. Zayner that they intend to file a motion to compel arbitration.
