$6B suit over NFL broadcast licensing heads to trial
Subscribers claim that the NFL conspired with other distributors and networks, including DirecTV, to unlawfully force them to purchase the “Sunday Ticket” package instead of allowing them to purchase select games.





Subscribers suing the National Football League in a $6 billion multidistrict lawsuit have not sufficiently alleged that its “Sunday Ticket” broadcast package violates federal antitrust laws, attorneys for the league said in a recent filing.
This case, which could alter how television licensing rights are negotiated, is scheduled for trial in February in Los Angeles after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals revived the complaint in 2019....
