Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday announced the appointment of the first director of the Division of Petroleum Market Oversight, which he called a major milestone in the state's efforts to police large oil companies following last year's record gasoline price spikes.
Tai Milder most recently served in the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. Milder also worked in the antitrust division of the California Department of Justice.
