A look at Chino Valley Schools’ gender identification policy
The Chino and Murrieta school districts are enacting a policy that bucks CDE guidance, drawing more than just AG Bonta’s dirty looks and forcing him to take action. If the investigation launched into Chino Valley proves that the law was indeed broken and that students’ rights were violated under a policy that outs their gender preference to their parents, then the district could be named a defendant in several civil rights and discrimination claims.
