Tara McGrath, a U.S. Marine and longtime federal prosecutor, was confirmed Friday as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California after a vote on her nomination was held up for two months by a U.S. senator who wanted to express his displeasure with the U.S. Justice Department’s indictments of former President Donald Trump.
McGrath was confirmed 52-37. Through a representative, she declined to comment.
