A federal judge in Riverside has upheld a jury’s $293 million verdict against Vital Pharmaceuticals Inc. and its CEO, Jack Owoc, in a false advertising lawsuit filed by Monster Energy Co.
Central District of California Judge Jesus G. Bernal also awarded Monster an additional $43 million in attorney fees and costs, bringing the total award to $336 million, likely the largest in Lanham Act history, attorneys at Hueston Hennigan LLP said.
