Norton Rose wins $5.2M for surgeon sued by partners
The complaint filed in Ventura County Superior Court says the doctor who founded West Coast Vascular invested significant amounts of money in its expansion and brought in several other doctors as partners, who later tried to oust him.
Attorneys from Norton Rose Fulbright scored a $5.2 million verdict for a vascular surgeon who accused his partners of wrongfully ousting him from the medical practice that he founded.
The Ventura County jury awarded Dr. Shawn Skillern $2.6 million each from two partners in compensatory damages and found him not liable on cross complaints on Oct. 11. His attorneys waived punitive damages to prevent appeals.
