Judge reconsiders summary judgment in Gilroy shooting suit

Superior Court Judge Frederick S. Chung had tentatively granted summary judgment on all claims in favor of the City of Gilroy, the Gilroy Garlic Festival Association Inc, and First Alarm Security Patrol Inc. But after arguments from victims of the mass shooting, he took the case under submission.

A Santa Clara judge had tentatively granted summary judgment to the main defendants in a lawsuit over culpability for a mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in 2019, but after arguments Tuesday said he would consider further and mail them his ruling.
