Meta, Louboutin join up to sue accused online counterfeiter

After alerting Meta of the defendant’s accounts, Louboutin executives took action themselves — ordering a pair of counterfeit shoes from the defendant to catch him in the act.

Meta Platforms Inc. and Christian Louboutin LLC, one of the world’s premier luxury fashion brands, accused a Facebook and Instagram user of using the social media platform to prop up his business selling counterfeit goods in a new lawsuit filed in federal court in Oakland.
