Actor's counsel to seek further civil case stay as possible charges loom

Los Angeles Judge Maurice A. Leiter previously denied a motion to stay the civil case against Alec Baldwin in September, calling the prospect of criminal charges against him at that time "speculative."

Counsel for Alec Baldwin confirmed Wednesday that they would once again seek a stay in civil proceedings against the actor related to the deadly shooting on the set of his film "Rust."

The motion, which has not yet been submitted, comes amid news reports of a revived criminal indictment against Baldwin in New Mexico, where the shooting occurred.
