Plaintiffs in granite countertop cases oppose relating them

More than a dozen such cases have been filed in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles, and defendants have argued against relating the matters. They have been designated not complex, although one discussed Wednesday has more than 80 defendants.

Judges in Los Angeles presiding over lawsuits in which multiple stone countertop manufacturers are accused of concealing information that their products' dust particles can cause lung disease if inhaled might have to engage in some serious case management.

At a hearing on a demurrer in one of those cases on Wednesday, Judge Timothy Patrick Dillon asked plaintiffs and defendants how they wanted to proceed.
